  "abstract": "Offworld.Voyage is an astronaut training project focused on the design and development of self-contained ecologically sustainable all-vegan research facilities - intended for use in live immersive simulation missions that solve for interplanetary exploration as well as adaptation to the extremes of a rapidly changing biosphere on Earth.",
  "description": "M.A.R.S. Tesseract-1 is an astronaut training facility being developed by Offworld.Voyage, designed for use in Mars surface analog simulations - consisting of modular interconnected living structures including an enclosed green-hab science lab, fab lab and flow space.\r\n\r\nResearch activities will include: \r\n    \u2022 EVAs utilizing sim-spacesuits embedded with biosensors\r\n    \u2022 On site cultivation of nutrient dense foods\r\n    \u2022 Experiments in development of open source decentralized communications and coordination tools and protocols\r\n    \u2022 Mission Support / Mission Control training\r\n    \u2022 Geological analysis and mapping\r\n    \u2022 Off-grid and autonomous power production\r\n    \u2022 Exercises in extreme reduction of resource consumption\r\n    \u2022 Coordinated decision making and collective action \r\n    \u2022 Water purification and re-use\r\n    \u2022 Composting and re-processing of organic waste\r\n    \u2022 Creative on-site repair and recycling of all materials\r\n      \r\nThe inaugural mission is currently scheduled to occur in an isolated and remote desert location in late 2025.\r\n\r\nThe project is co-founded by Mars Desert Research Station alumni Scott Beibin and Elizabeth Jane Cole.",
