  "description": "<strong>LED strips</strong> have become really inexpensive. Hackers have created many easy methods for controlling them to make patterns and colors. In this workshop you will learn an easy way to control LED strips and make them do what you want. We will make use a very inexpensive Arduino clone. I'll show you everything you need to know to use existing programs -- as-is, or to hack on -- to control the colors in your world with LED strips.\r\n\r\n<i><strong>This workshop is for total beginners.</strong></i>\r\n\r\n<strong>Workshop Itinerary</strong>:\r\n<ul>\r\n  <li>Intro to Red-Green-Blue (RGB) LEDs</li>\r\n  <li>Brief intro to Arduino</li>\r\n  <li>How to use an Arduino to control an LED strip</li>\r\n  <li>Some demos of programs you can download</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\nFor ages 10 - 100.<br>\r\n\r\nTaught by <a href=\"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitch_Altman\"> Mitch Altman</a>.<br>\r\n\r\n<i>Optional: Bring your laptop, if you can.</i><br>\r\n\r\n<strong>Materials costs</strong>:<br>\r\nThe workshop is free, but if you would like to partake in the hands-on aspects of the workshop, Mitch will have materials for <strong>20 \u20ac</strong> (useful for making your life trippy and beautiful).",
